All About Our Fellow Mortals
Our Fellow Mortals is the pseudonym for San Francisco Bay Area based Artist Jonathan Hemelberg. He was born and raised in San Francisco CA to a Salvadorean mother and a Colombian father. His work explores queer masculinities as they intersect with ancient Maya history and contemporary Latinx identity. He produces ancient Maya style accordion books which seek to reconnect to an indigenous legacy which was stolen during the colonization of the Americas.
